Ibrahim Salifu
THE man behind the guest house. Ibrahim Salifu is working with Meet Africa, an N.G.O. which brings Dutch and Belgian people to Ghana and Cameroon to do voluntary work or to go on a holiday.
A few years ago he got the idea of building a guest house to let tourist experience the way of living in Africa, particularly in Ghana. That is why the guest house is not just a concrete building in the centre of town, but a traditionally build guest house in a village in the middle of the beautiful area of Karimenga.
Ibrahim is the main director and owner of the guest house and will be seen at the guest house regularly, although he is not the daily-business manager.
Yakubu / captain
Yakubu is a farmer from Karimenga who has helped building the guest house from the first beginning till the end. He has been there almost every day from early morning till it got dark and did a lot of work. Together with Abogreh, he was the main builder of the guest house.
This man is so trustable and really has heart for the guest house, that he has been employed as the care-taker / daily-business manager of the guest house. You will probably see him every day in and around the guest house.
Abogreh
Abogreh is the other main builder (together with Yakubu) of the guest house. Although this man is also a farmer and needs to put time in the farming, he was also almost every day at the guest house to help building it. Abogreh is a young man with a lot of energy and has put quite a lot of that energy in the guest house. Just like Yakubu he has heart for the case and understands that this guest house can really help the community of Karimenga. That is why he is employed as the main farmer for the guest house. As the guest house wants to be self supplying, we need to have our own land with cattle, chickens and of course yam, tomatoes, lettuce and other plants and vegetables. Abogreh is the man who takes care of you having good food!
Nsorbila
This very well both English as French speaking man was also one of the builders of The Greenhouse. Nsorbila is one of the men who you will see quite a lot around the guest house and might go with you on a tour as a guide, because he can tell you quite a lot in both English and French.
Sugure
Apoyure
Kwame
Nashiru
This young boy will, just like Nsorbila, be one of the men you will see both around the guest house or going with you on a tour, because his English is also quite good. This does not mean you can not ask anything in English to the other guys, but for the more difficult questions, please just ask both Nsorbila or Nashiru.

Johan Verhagen
Johan is a guy from The Netherlands who went to Ghana first in September 2007. He stayed in the area of Bolgatanga for more than 5 months to do voluntary work and stayed in two host families. The last host family was the family of Ibrahim Salifu, the director and owner of The Greenhouse. Johan had such a great time working with Ibrahim, that he decided to come back to Ghana at the end of April 2009 to help building The Greenhouse. Johan is also the contact person for The Greenhouse in Europe (The Netherlands).
Mariƫtte Verhoef
Robert Ramaker

Robert stayed in juni and july 2011 in Karimenga. He worked on the Nino’s Library together with Marije and the local people. It was a great experience to live with the people of Karimenga. The Greenhouse is a great place to be. It has all the facilities you need: Warmth, friendship and a brilliant atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back.
